The Project

Location

Just a 10-minute drive to Macarthur Square and Campbelltown, The Village, Menangle is a growing community surrounded by urban essentials of shopping, hospitals and public transport and greenery and a meandering creek. The project consists of predominantly low-density residential housing at the Menangle Road and Station Street intersection, spanning across the Southern Highlands Railway line to the Hume Motorway.

Menangle is located within the semi-rural LGA of Wollondilly Shire, approximately 70km south-west of Sydney CBD and 9km south-west of Campbelltown. The site is also approximately 28km from the future Western Sydney International Airport and Bradfield City Centre which is earmarked to become Sydney’s third CBD.

Menangle's rich history

Menangle’s story begins with the traditional owners, the Dharawal and Gandagara people before writing its way into Australian history books as the birthplace of the wool, dairy and agricultural industry in the mid-1800s. Established as a private village by the Macarthur family in 1866, its heritage remains evident in its tree-lined streets and historic buildings.

Landmarks include the Menangle school, which was established in 1967 before being redeveloped and opened by Council more recently, St James Anglican Church on the hill, and the Menangle Store which was built in 1904 and continues to be a favourite stop for visitors.

The iconic Camden Park Estate Central Creamery and Rotolactor, which revolutionised dairy production in the 1950s, is situated alongside The Village and is awaiting a proposed rejuvenation from the landowner.

The Village, Menangle

Planning approval for the project was granted in 2018, following amendments to the Wollondilly Local Environmental Plan 2011 that rezoned the land for residential use.

Since then, the community has continued to grow, with over 130 residents now calling The Village home across Stage 1 and Stage 2. Significant infrastructure milestones have been achieved along the way, including the completion of Rotolactor Park, a 1.35-hectare green space featuring a nature play area and all-abilities playground.

We are looking forward to opening an all-accessible pedestrian bridge over the railway line by mid-2025 to improve connectivity and safety within the neighbourhood. The completion of Stage 3 will also see another green space added to The Village.

Currently, land lots within Village Glen (Stage 2) and Village Meadow (Stage 3) are available for purchase.

 PARKLANDS
In 2023, Mirvac opened Rotolactor Park, 1.35 hectares of green open space which boasts a mix of native and deciduous trees, a nature play area, space for ball games, BBQ spots and an all-abilities playground suitable for all ages. The project will also include a second community park on the east of the railway line, offering a place for both residents and members of the wider community to gather and connect.

HERITAGE CONSERVATION
To create an attractive and unique sense of place, a set of Design Guidelines has been developed by Mirvac in consultation with Wollondilly Shire Council for each home delivered within the Village, Menangle. The heritage, rural and village character will be expressed through the choice of materials, colours, landscaping, and integration of traditional architectural forms evident in the local area.

CONNECTIVITY
Ideally located, the project offers convenient road, rail, and bus connections to Campbelltown, Camden, and Picton, ensuring easy access to essential amenities for family life. To enhance connectivity, Mirvac is delivering a 2.5-metre-wide pedestrian bridge over the Southern Highlands Railway Line, safely linking residents on both sides of the station to the growing Village community.
