Pedestrian Bridge

Location

Mirvac is delivering a new pedestrian bridge over the Southern Highlands Railway Line on behalf of Transport for NSW (TfNSW). The bridge is located between the intersections of Station Street with Stevens Road to the west, Moreton Park Road to the east.

The pedestrian bridge will be free standing and sit directly adjacent to the northern side of the existing narrow road bridge where Station Street runs over the Southern Highlands Railway Line.

About

Mirvac, along with project partners Benedict Industries and the Halfpenny family, is delivering a separate 2.5-metre-wide pedestrian bridge with handrails, to safely connect existing and future residential communities situated on either side of the Southern Highlands Railway Line.

Approval of the REF from Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) for the construction of the pedestrian bridge was received in August 2024. Full detail can be found here.

The pedestrian bridge is designed to safeguard the community from ongoing risks associated with crossing on the existing road bridge along Station Street that does not include a segregated pedestrian or cyclist path.
